New Orleans is a predominately black city, yet much, if not most of the city’s public spaces (i.e., schools, parks and street names), are named after former slave owners and members of the Confederacy. Worse still, there are several monuments to these racists. This session will explore the major victories and ongoing struggle against white supremacist symbols and systems in New Orleans.
