We will examine how black love in the media is often depicted as a limited resource, centers heteronormativity and romanticism, and provides us limited nuance around how black love sustains our movements and survival. Using a Black queer feminist framework, we will navigate how identity, trauma, and white supremacist violence affects the depictions of Black love in media and our internalization of that imagery and performance.
