How can we reframe the power dynamic that so often defines relationships between foundations and grassroots communities? We will learn from two case studies: “12 Recommendations for Detroit Funders” developed by Detroit community organizers and the Third Wave Fund's model of nurturing accountability, critique, and dialogue between grantmakers and grantees. Participants will be invited to share examples of similar organizing efforts from their own communities.
