Hello, my name is Austeena Vallete and I am 18 years old. I love community based work and learning the Civil Rights for the LGBT community as well as sharing my story of transitioning. I am in an AmeriCorps program called Public Allies which is all about creating homegrown leaders in the City of Detroit. I am placed at the Office of Metropolitan Impact at The University of Michigan-Dearborn as the Program Assistant. I handle logistics related to building relationships between campus and community partners.
